Feb 12        Depart Peterborough and Travel to New Delhi Via Jet Airways

Feb 13        Arrive New Deli

Feb 14-18   Transfer to Goa

                    All India Mission Seminary, Goa

                    In Goa we have a chance to get acclimatized to the sight, sounds, and climate of India. We will visit the tomb of St. Francis Xavier and explore the tremendous influence of European culture on the expression of Christianity in this state. We will be hosted by the Re-animation Centre at Pilar Seminary. There we will have an opportunity to explore the vital role of the arts in the expression of spirituality and in spiritual development.                  

Feb 19-21 Varanasi

         We stay in the village of Sarnath on the outskirts of Varanasi, the site where the Buddha began his teaching after attaining enlightenment at Bodgaya. On the 20th we will take an early morning boat ride along the Ganges and witness Hindu's performing pujas and visit the burning Ghats.   

Feb 22-24 Bodhgaya

        This is the site where the Buddha gained enlightenment and is a working Buddhist centre today. We will enter into a 2 day meditation retreat.

Feb 24-March 1 Bareilly

        We will discuss issues of faith and life at the Biblical Institute in Bareilly and visit mission fields in Nanital. While in the villages, we will have the opportunity to run a craft program for Dalit children and celebrate Holi- the festival of colours (Feb 28)

March 2 Agra  Day trip to the Taj Mahal

March 3-5 Village Retreat

    Debrief

March 6: Transfer Delhi and Return Home
