This June the Institute is hosting Fr. Seby Mascarenhas as a visiting scholar from the All India Mission Seminary, Pilar, Goa, India. While in Canada, Fr. Mascarenhas will facilitate workshops, offer public lectures, and lead worship in Peterborough, Ottawa, and Winnipeg. We are receiving donations to help cover expenses.

Nagpur Slum Development Project

Each of our courses which travel to Nagpur visit the slums in which the Nagpur Multipurpose Social Service Society is involved in assisting community development. They have made a request to us for assistance in funding a community development project focusing on empowering the slum dwelling women. We are receiving donations on their behalf.

Willing to help provide meaningful employment?

Through the institute's project: Our Voices Arise!

Our aim is to hire 100 Muslim and Christian slum dwelling women to write their stories. The cost per writer includes one years salary to attain literacy and gain writing skills, and then six month's salary to write their story. These stories will be compiled and published in a series alongside women writers from oppressed communities around the world.

For $2.00 a day, you will provide meaningful training and employment and help in supporting these women find their voices as they find their feet. Your commitment to them is for 18 months, their commitment to you is to invite you into their world and let you see their life through their eyes.

Each sponsor will be provided with a photo of the woman you are sponsoring. Letters and communication must be funneled through the community support worker, as there is no mailing address in the slum.

The Institute will facilitate face to face visits for any sponsors wishing to meet with the women in person.
